Be careful, your privilege is showing.

Mercury is in retrograde & people have simply forgotten how to act.

I'm reevaluating where I’m at, what I’m doing, & who I am surrounding myself with. I’m getting deep with myself. Real fucking deep. I'm discovering what I like about myself & what I don't. I'm acknowledging my toxic traits & working on them.

I encourage you to do the same. Take a hard look at your life & figure out what you need to keep & what you need to let go of. Look at who + what you support & ask yourself if they match your core values & morals.
& while you're taking a hard look at yourself, ask yourself what your toxic traits are.
Get real with yourself before you get real with others. Dig deep.

If you know me, you know I'm a pretty passionate person. There are three subjects I'm particularly passionate about:
1. Mental Health
2. Racism
3. Women's Rights

I've covered Mental Health in "No-one wants to talk about it so let's talk about it."
Today I'm going to talk about Racism.

Some of you might be thinking, 'Omg why... why is she making everything about race?' Great question.

People don't think race is a problem because it isn't affecting them.
Racism may not effect you directly but please understand so many people around you are dealing with it every single day.

Before I dive in I'm going to ask you to open your mind & step out of the shoes your currently in & into the shoes of someone else that doesn't look like you.

Have you ever caught yourself talking to a black person and saying the following:
"You're the whitest black person I know." "You don't act black."

I need you to understand two things:
1. Calling someone white isn't a compliment.
2. People don't aspire to be white someday.

California just banned racial discrimination against employees with natural hairstyles.
Let that sink in. A LAW had to be passed in order for black people to be able to wear their hair as it NATURALLY grows out of their scalp. In 2019, can you imagine? Not being able to wear the hair you were born with because other people just simply didn't like it? I just need everyone to take a moment and consider this.

Let’s talk about white privilege. People get so defensive when you bring up white privilege. They immediately start making excuses and giving examples of how they aren't privileged. The term "White Privilege" isn't an attack on your personal character. It actually has nothing to do with you as a person at all. Please just open your minds & understand the fact that if you are white, your life will never be made more difficult due to the color of your skin. If you admit that you do benefit from white privilege, I respect the shit out of you. Acknowledging it promotes a shift in our culture.

I think people forget that slavery only ended 156 years ago.
You guys.... a lifetime & a half ago people were being enslaved. Are you processing that?
Racism is still alive & well.
People are still to this day being discriminated & killed due to the color of their skin.

There is absolutely no excuse to be racist. I do not care if that's how you were raised. If you think separating people by the color of their skin is okay, you're a part of the problem. If you think the solution is to tell people who look different to go back to where they came from, you're a part of the problem.

Racism is taught. It is an active choice you make every day as an adult or individual in society. I don’t want you to unlearn it, I want you to recognize, grow, + actively choose otherwise.

Just because your parents & grandparents were racist does not mean you have to carry on this disgusting trait into your generation & onto your children.

The President of the United States was just called out for tweeting racist remarks.
The saddest part of it all, people are still choosing to support him. They know he's a racist and that isn't enough for them to leave. That is a huge fucking problem. Another huge problem is that the majority of them are white.

You know, I thought Donald Trump becoming President was the worst thing that could have ever happened to us, but maybe it was one of the best. He brought out so much hate, so many racists came to light. He gave white supremistis the green light to show their true colors. & now, there is no where to hide. We hear you. We SEE you.

Forget sides, forget parties. Our country is about so much more than that. We have to stop letting hate divide us & instead come together. Making America Great Again does not mean Making America White Again.

Diversity is beautiful.
It's okay if everyone doesn't look like you.
It's okay if they make an original Disney Princess a different race in the remake.

You don’t have to be threatened by change. Color doesn’t have to scare you.
No one is trying to take anything from you.
Our diverse culture is truly what makes America great.

All I ask it that you use your voices.

If you are white, I encourage you to speak up for what's right.
Use your privilege for good, not evil.
Make a difference. Make a change.
DO NOT SIT THERE and act like everything is fine & racism isn't real, just because it isn’t effecting you.

Please, please, please do not let the fear of people judging you or not liking you anymore for the things you post & stand up for stop you.

Losing people is a part of life but know and understand not everyone you lose is a loss.
You need people in your corner who have the same standards & values for human life as you do.
ALWAYS stand up for what you believe in.
ALWAYS stand up for the people who are being discriminated against.
If you witness racism, DO SOMETHING.

Use your voice & always do whats right.

“Racism & hate have no place here.”

Love will always trump hate.
